ALLEN SHAHEEN

Allen Shaheen is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cognizant U.S. Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports education and skills programs, public-private partnerships, and other initiatives designed for reskilling those in the workforce looking to obtain specialized technical skills for digital technology jobs. Allen was named to the Cognizant U.S. Foundation board following its creation in 2018.

As Cognizant’s Executive Vice President, North American Regional Delivery Centers, Allen is responsible for workforce initiatives that enable the company’s employees and its clients to succeed in the digital era through technology education and training programs, apprenticeships and innovative educational partnerships.  In this role, he leads the development and implementation of the company’s strategy to expand its service offerings and capabilities at facilities in dozens of U.S. cities and states, and throughout Canada. 

Previously, Allen was Cognizant’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Development and was responsible for Cognizant’s mergers and acquisitions, overseeing the team responsible for 15 acquisitions, with a particular focus on companies that expanded Cognizant’s digital and vertical market capabilities.

Allen joined Cognizant in 2006 and has held a number of senior management roles, including leader of Cognizant’s Enterprise Application Services Practice, General Manager of Cognizant’s German business unit and Markets Delivery Leader for Cognizant in Europe. He has also led Cognizant’s IT Infrastructure Services Practice, managed Cognizant’s Systems Integration and Testing practices, and led Cognizant’s Global Technology Office during his career at the company.

Prior to joining Cognizant, Allen was a founder, officer and Executive Vice President of International Operations at Cambridge Technology Partners, a publicly traded information technology professional services firm.  He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of web development company ArsDigita Corp. prior to its 2002 acquisition by Red Hat Corp.

Allen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard College.
